IMO Terrell Newby is the best RB on the west coast. I hope you are right about Cal being a front-runner.

Seen Newby in action several times this season. He's about as well-rounded as they come. Could contribute in his first year of college ball, in some sort of fashion, regardless of where he lands.

No problem. Check the site in the coming weeks, we'll be keeping tabs on Newby, among many others, regardless of whether or not they end up at UCLA.

Newby recently named UCLA as one of his final three, with Nebraska and Oregon. The Bruins will be in business if they can land a commitment from him.

Damn, Cal went from front-runner yesterday to out of his top three today? Bummer.
I still think this guy is a beast, hope he warms up to Cal before LOI day.

I don't think he changed his mind on a whim. It's more likely that Newby had an established relationship with Cal's running backs coach Ron Gould and when he left for the HC job at Davis I think Newby's interest in Cal took a hit.
Although UCLA and Nebraska seem to be his top two, I think there's still enough time before LOI day for the new Cal staff to build a relationship and get back in it with Newby.

Gould leaving town had a lot to do with his decision, yes. However, I think Newby was not high on the Bruins because they did not pursue him enough early on. Guess it doesn't matter where you start, but where you finish. Don't think he ends up at UCLA, for what it's worth.

Huskers, yes. With a chance to be a featured back, why not jump at the opportunity. He's had nothing but good things to say about program. Suppose you can't count out the Bruins. Just don't see it happening. Plan to do an update on Newby later this week. Stay tuned.
