UCLA had a big junior day on Sunday with some of the best prospects on the west coast in attendance. Three-star linebacker Cameron Judge was one of those prospects and though he arrived without an offer, he left with one. It didn’t take long for the news to come in.
“Right when I got there, they offered me,” Judge said on Sunday afternoon. “I saw coach (Jim) Mora and he offered me right away.”
The offer wasn’t a surprise for Judge but it was something that he was looking forward to.
“It was pretty cool to get an offer,” he said. “I was looking forward to getting it.”
A product of the powerful Thousand Oaks (Calif.) Oaks Christian program, Judge already held offers from Arizona, Utah and Oregon State. With UCLA now in the fold, the Bruins have landed high on his list.
“They’re near the top right now,” he said. “I could definitely see myself there.”
After having the opportunity to meet with Coach Mora and his position coach, Jeff Ulbricht, Judge noted that he could see things changing in Westwood.
“Their staff is really cool,” he said. “I actually liked them a lot. It was interesting to see what defenses they’re running.”
While the UCLA offer was a welcomed addition, Judge did not that he is hoping to land an offer from Oregon as well.
“Oregon is a school I’m pretty interested in,” he said. “I just like the program and how they’re consistently in bowl games because I love playing in big games like that.”
At Oaks Christian, Judge has certainly been a part of some big games and he has put together some big performances to match. As a junior, Judge piled up 113 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
