Sleeper of the class

  • Do you all agree with the article on the front page that Kenneth Clark is the sleeper of the 2013 class? If not, which recruit would you go with?

    Clark can be a difference-maker. Just watch.

  • i always find it hard to say that the sleeper of the class is a highly recruited 4-star athlete. BUT in this case Kenneth Clark's recruitment went under the radar because he committed relatively early and the Bruins didn't have to fight hard for his commitment.

    After the theatrics of the "Ellis Island" recruitment... Clark's recruitment seemed more like an afterthought.

    He plays at a position of need (in terms of depth --- I personally don't think we will see him this year)...

    Early in the recruiting year...I predicted that... Poasi Moala was my favorite OL commit. i saw amazing athleticism on a frame that was going to get bigger. BUT again, he was elevated from a middle of the road 3* to a 4*. Hard to say that he is a surprise.

    The player I think will have the greatest impact NEXT YEAR... Is not on the commitment list at all... because we did not extend a Scholie offer to him. My surprise to make the biggest impact is REED BRUCE from Arizona. Our long-snapper is graduating and it was unclear who might step in. One bad snap can change the complexion of a game. That one play can cost you a birth in the Rose Bowl.

  • I think Jalen Ortiz is going to open up some eyes. This kid is inside linebacker tough, has jets for feet and pound for pound is perhaps the strongest kid coming in. He is a DB, RB, returner and receiver and excels at all. Despite his smallish stature, he plays large. This staff is going to love him.

    Agreed. Our snapper cost us the Stanford game as the freshie had no chance with that ball in the ground.

    Good choice. Jack-of-all trades type will be put to use by coaching staff at UCLA.
